Catholic Charities is the organization used by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to fund 80 agencies that provide services to the needy of this area. In 2008, more than 250,000 calls for help were answered.
The annual appeal for funds has been held every May since 1958. Ninety-five percent of all money donated to Catholic Charities goes directly to the agencies that provide the needed services.
